Dr. Russell B. Hays

Senior Partner

Since joining Point Loma Family Practice & Sports Medicine, Dr. Hays has been committed to providing the Point Loma and Ocean Beach community with outstanding primary care, aviation exams, and more.
After earning his Bachelor’s in Biology and Sociology from the University of South Florida, Dr. Hays received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami in 1994. In 2011, Dr. Hays continued on to receive his Master of Public Health from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Hays has proudly served the United States Navy since 1994. He was served as an Officer, flight surgeon, and Senior Aerospace Medicine specialist, and has provided primary care and aviation exams to active-duty personnel.

Dr. Joseph Allen

Senior Partner

Dr. Allen is a San Diego native, having proudly served as doctor for the Point Loma and Ocean Beach Community since returning in 2002.
Dr. Allen earned his undergraduate degree in Applied Arts and Sciences, with a double major in French and Biology, from San Diego State University in 1991. Continuing his education, Dr. Allen earned a Master’s in Molecular Biology from the same institution, followed by his Doctorate of Medicine from St. George’s University in 1999. After completing his residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center-Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Allen returned to Point Loma, completing a post-graduate fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 2004.
